On October 29, 2023, Medical Center Barbour (“MCB”) discovered that its network had been subject to unauthorized activity and began investigating. Medical Center Barbour finished its investigation on December 8, 2023, and determined that its employees and/or consumers’ personal information may have been compromised, including:
- Name
- Date of Birth
- Medical Information
- Health Insurance Information
Medical Center Barbour notified the current and former employees and/or customers whose personal information was compromised on August 22, 2024. - Change your passwords and security information for online accounts;
- Review your account statements for unauthorized activity;
- Monitor your credit reports for signs of identity theft;
- Contact the credit bureaus to request a temporary fraud alert;
- Carefully review the notice you received from Medical Center Barbour;
- Keep a copy of the notice for your records; and
- Enroll in the identity theft and credit monitoring services offered in the notice from Medical Center Barbour.
